White Mountains Insurance Group, Ltd., announced that Weston M. Hicks has been elected Chairman of the Board. He replaces Morgan Davis, who has retired from the Board effective immediately.
Earlier this year, Hicks was elected as a director of the company.
Hicks previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Alleghany Corporation, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway.
Prior to joining Alleghany, Hicks served at The Chubb Corporation where he held the role of Chief Financial Officer.
In addition, Hicks also previously worked at JP Morgan as a senior research analyst and Managing Director.
Commenting on his new role, Hicks said: “I am honored to assume the leadership of this unique and exceptional company. The entire Board thanks Morgan for his leadership as our Chairman over the past six years, in his 17 years of service as a director, and the great value he has created for owners in many roles and over many decades, from the Fireman’s Fund to the present.”
