A state of emergency has been declared in the Seychelles after a large explosion at an industrial site on the main island, Mahé.
Video footage shows the moment the explosion occurred, leaving a trail of destruction on the island’s east coast.
The international airport was also damaged, despite being 4km (2.5 miles) away. Schools are closed and hospitals are closed to all but emergency cases.
Many people were injured and many people were also displaced from their homes.
The explosion occurred after 02:00 local time (22:00 GMT Wednesday) at a construction and quarrying company, where explosives were stored in four containers.
