Threads still lacks many important features, but Search is no longer one of them. At least in “most English and Spanish speaking countries”.
You’ll be back on Threads sooner than you think
On Thursday, six days after Meta owner Mark Zuckerberg teased (via the medium of Vin Diesel) that a Search function was coming, he posted an update to say that it had officially launched.

Countries getting the new feature include the US, UK, India, Mexico and Argentina, per TechCrunch.
After what felt like a sudden launch, Threads is slowly rolling out updates to its interface (at first it’s pretty threadbare). The app launches on the desktop, rolls out a Following feed, adds a separate feed for reposts, and allows users to add custom alt text.
There are many things missing though, with users in the comments calling for hashtags, an editing function, and trending topics, among others.
