So far Apple hasn’t said anything about the Beats Studio Buds Plus, but they’ve been spotted in at least one US store – which is as good a confirmation of their existence as you’ll get outside of an official press release. release.
Tech tipster Ben Geskin (Opens in a new tab) (via MacRumors) provided photos of the wireless earbuds at a Best Buy, though it looks like they’re set to go on sale, and aren’t actually available for purchase right now.
This indicates that the launch is imminent and is likely to follow in the coming days. The Beats Studio Buds made their debut back in June of 2021, so we’ve been waiting a long time at this point for an upgrade.

Colors and battery life
The first picture and a follow-up picture Geskin shared that it shows that the Beats Studio Buds Plus will be available in white or black colors, as well as in a transparent style with a certain Nothing Ear (2) vibes about it.
On the box we see that there is a mention of active noise cancellation, and a 36-hour battery life in the help of the case. That marked both parts of our wishlist for these earbuds – the original versions lasted only 15 hours with the battery included in the case.
The details of this latest leak are consistent with what we previously learned from an Amazon listing earlier than expected. That listing puts the price of the Beats Studio Buds Plus at $169.95 ($20 more than the Beats Studio Buds), with a May 18 launch date.
Analysis: a solid store upgrade
As you can tell from our best wireless earbuds list, it’s a competitive space these days. Apple knows this better than most, because it released the AirPods and the AirPods Pro as well as the earbuds with the Beats brand included.
Nothing’s official yet about the Beats Studio Buds Plus of course, but based on what we’ve heard so far, we’d say they’re shaping up to be a solid upgrade. It looks like the design won’t change much, but that’s not a problem.
If these new earbuds offer better battery life and noise cancellation, as promised, then the small price increase is more than acceptable. Apparently they’ll also support “hey Siri” voice commands, which is another nice touch.
We also like the new transparent option, which may not be to everyone’s taste but is definitely different from the norm (the latest No earbuds except). As soon as Apple makes it official, we will of course inform you about it.
