Rockies Outfielder Brenton Doyle was taken off the field during Thursday’s game against the Marlins after he crashed into the wall at Coors Field while trying to track down a fly ball.
The game came in the ninth inning of Colorado’s 7-6 win over Miami. With one on and one out, Marlins designated hitter Jorge Soler hit a ball to deep center field. Doyle gave chase at a full sprint and crashed into the wall. The ball steamed off his glove into the stands for a two-run home run, and Doyle remained on the field in obvious pain.
Doyle appeared to have suffered an injury to his right knee, which sustained a bruise from crashing into the wall. The situation was made worse by an awkward landing on the same leg.

Doyle was diagnosed with a knee injury after the game.
“It will take a few days to feel better. … I’m happy we end up winning the ballgame,” he told reporters after the Rockies blew a four-run lead in the ninth.
Colorado manager Bud Black said Doyle is not expected to be placed on the injured list.
