Free agent linebacker Shaquille Leonard visited the Cowboys on Tuesday and should also visit the Eagles later this week, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Leonard, a four-time All-Pro, was released on Colts on Nov. 21.
At one point, Leonard was the best linebacker in the NFL. He was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2018 and led the league in tackles that same year and also led the NFL in forced fumbles in 2021. But his game has taken a significant nosedive over the past two years .
Leonard only played three games in 2022 due to various injuries, including a concussion and a lingering back injury. This year, Leonard has just 65 tackles and has yet to record a sack or a forced fumble in nine games.
Philadelphia and Dallas have hopes of making a push for the Super Bowl, something Leonard has yet to do in Indianapolis. Despite his lack of production, his experience will be invaluable to any opponent.
