The NHL will reportedly remain without Deadpool.
According to Bruce Garrioch of Ottawa Sun, several groups trying to buy the Ottawa Senators reached out to actor Ryan Reynolds to gauge his interest in joining the crowd. However, he refused all the offers.
The news comes after ESPN’s Emily Kaplan reported on May 11 that Reynolds had dropped out of the bidding process.
While the actor was included in a bid led by the real estate developer Remington Group, Kaplan noted that he left when he did not receive an exclusive 30-day negotiating window that he sought in the process.
This wouldn’t be his first venture into sports team ownership, as he and fellow actor Rob McElhenney are co-owners of Welsh soccer club Wrexham AFC. The club gained promotion to Football League Two this year.
As for the Senators, Garrioch noted that the expectation is that the winning bid will be revealed at some point this week.
