Hart Moede has been appointed as Lead Underwriter for MS Reinsurance’s Treaty Casualty reinsurance business, effective August 1.
Based in New York, Moede joins MS Reinsurance after a nearly six-year term at QBE Re where he currently serves as Vice President, Treaty Underwriter.
He joined the company in late 2017, taking on the role of Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter.
Prior to QBE Re, Moede worked at global re/insurance broker Aon, where he served as Associate Director for three years.
In addition, Moede also has prior experience within marine underwriting, from his tenure at ProSight Specialty Insurance.
In other related news, Andrew Shaw has recently joined MS Reinsurance as Head of Property – US & Canada.
In addition, MS Reinsurance recently promoted Maria V. Amelio to Head of US Casualty. Amelio joined the company in 2021 as Lead Casualty Underwriter, a role he held for more than two years prior to his promotion.
