Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) beat Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on stage at a Paramore concert in Washington, DC, on Friday.
Videos circulating on social media retweeted on Frost’s Twitter account show the new congressman saying “f— Ron DeSantis” and “f— fascism.”
“I said what I said,” later Tweet.
Video too SHOW Frost sang and danced on stage with the group, known for several hit songs such as “Ain’t It Fun” and “Still Into You.”
“So thankful for this moment. I’ve been practicing in the shower for YEARS,” Frost tweeted.
Frost too posted a picture of himself with lead singer Hayley Williams from during and after the show, captioning the latter image “post sweaty workout.”
Williams praised Frost as he took the stage, ASK audience members, “Did you see this? Do you see the future right here?”
Frost, who is 26 years old, became the first Generation Z member of Congress after winning his House race in Florida’s 10.th Congressional District in November.
“We’re making history for Floridians, for Gen Z, and for everyone who believes we deserve a better future,” he Tweet after he won.
DeSantis, who announced his run for the GOP nomination for president last week, has become a common target of attacks by liberals who criticize the governor for several controversial policies he has implemented in Florida.
Frost has bashed DeSantis over the policies, accusing him in March of fascism in targeting members of the Black and LGBTQ communities.
“But we have to call it what it is: He abused his power and used the state to target political opponents and political enemies. And there’s a word for that, and it’s fascism, and we have to be honest— anon about it,” he said.
