When editorial assistant Nella (Sinclair Daniel) meets her new co-worker Hazel (Ashleigh Murray), she’s glad she’s not very white the company hired another Black person. But as the trailer for the new series on Hulu The Other Black Woman reveals, sometimes it’s better to be careful what you wish for.
Watch the trailer here; It started out as “satirical office comedy” then transitioned into “dystopian office of horrors”—a sub-genre we’ve been watching to see more of since the first season of Severance (and the trailer for Jon Hamm’s Corner Officewhich was recently released).
Based on the novel by Zakiya Dalila Harris, The Other Black Woman also stars Brittany Adebumola, Hunter Parrish, Bellamy Young, Eric McCormack (see especially that there is no breath here), and Garcelle Beauvais. Rashida Jones—who knows a thing or two about weird jobs, stars The office—is among its executive producers. All 10 episodes will arrive on Hulu September 13.
Here are some more images from The Other Black Woman; You won’t get much plot from it, but that mood is delicious the fear is very clear.
