Gerald Erasmus has joined specialty re/insurer Ascot Group as Reinsurance Controller, a role based in the firm’s Bermuda office.
Erasmus joins Ascot Group after nearly seven years with RenaissanceRe, where he most recently served as AVP Controller – Casualty & Specialty Ceded.
He joined the company as a Senior Reinsurance Accountant in 2017 and was later appointed Assistant Controller – Reinsurance before taking on the role of AVP Controller.
Prior to Renaissance Re, he spent over eight years at Hiscox Bermuda, and nearly two years at Deloitte Bermuda.
The Ascot Group was founded in 2001 and provides a wide range of property and casualty products to customers worldwide through the Lloyd’s and Bermuda market platforms.
In the United States, Ascot provides specialized insurance products to small and medium-sized businesses as well as offering underwriting services to high-quality carrier and syndicate partners through MGU, Ethos Specialty.
The specialty re/insurer also recently announced the appointment of Owen Williams as Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Ascot US, and John Kuhn as Senior Vice President, Management Liability and Head of Large Public.
