The new exec has more than three decades of legal and corporate governance experience

Everest Re Group announced the appointment of Ricardo Anzaldua as executive vice president and general counsel, effective June 12.
In his new role, Anzaldua will report to Juan C. Andrade, president and CEO of Everest Re Group, and serve on the company’s executive leadership team.

Anzaldua has over three decades of legal, corporate governance and (re)insurance industry experience. Prior to joining Everest Re, he served as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Freddie Mac. Prior to that, he served as executive vice president and general counsel of MetLife. Anzaldua has also held positions at The Hartford Financial Services Group and global law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, where he is co-chair of the diversity committee.
