the Dolphins had a significant injury scare in practice this week, as a wide receiver Jaylen Waddle fell with a cut in his midsection. However, it appears that the third-year wideout will be “fine” and avoid a more serious injury.
After Miami’s preseason game against the Falcons on Friday, coach Mike McDaniel explained that Waddle’s offseason was long enough to take time to heal.
“He’s had enough quality reps that I’m not really worried about him being involved in the offense,” McDaniel said. “Luckily it’s not something that’s going to be a long-term deal. He continues to rehab and work with trainers.

Waddle has been healthy throughout his career, playing in 33 of a possible 34 regular season games since entering the league in 2021. He started his career with back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons, including a league-leading 18.1 yards per reception. last year.
Miami will have to deal with a major injury, as star cornerback Jalen Ramsey will have to undergo knee surgery after an injury in practice that will force him to sit out the season. McDaniel didn’t say when he expects Waddle to return to practice, but it doesn’t look like it will be long.
