The strange quest for notoriety Chiefs Superfan Xavier Michael Babudar took another turn this week as he continued to run after skipping a March court appearance in connection with an alleged 2022 bank robbery.
Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers tabbed Babudar, known to Chiefs faithful who wear wolf costumes as “ChiefsAholic,” as a special person of interest after adding him to its list of most wanted fugitives.
The summary of the offense associated with Babudar’s list is described by the organization as “failure to appear in court warrant for bank robbery.” The 27-year-old is scheduled for a hearing on March 27, more than three months after he was arrested on Dec. 16 for the alleged armed robbery of the Tulsa Teachers Credit Union in Bixby, Okla.
The hearing, scheduled to take place in Tulsa County, was arranged after Babudar pleaded not guilty to the charges and was later released from jail after his $80,000 bond was paid by a bail bondsman.
Shortly after the hearing, Tulsa judge Michelle Keely issued an arrest warrant for Babudar with a bond of $1 million. In addition to the missed hearing, Babudar’s disappearance raised red flags after law enforcement reportedly recovered his estranged, court-ordered GPS ankle monitor.
As of Friday, there were no updates on Babudar’s whereabouts.
