the Celtics will be watching Saturday’s Eastern Conference finals, scheduled to take on the Heat in Game 6. Ahead of the matchup, TNT’s Inside invites the NBA crew Panthers star Matthew Tkachuk at the table to discuss his team’s run to the Stanley Cup Finals.
As noted, two of the stars of the respective conference finals in each sport will return. During the segment, Tkachuk revealed that he and the Boston star Jayson Tatum actually attended the same high school and were even members of the same gym class.
Tatum and Tkachuk both attended Chaminade College Preparatory School in Creve Coeur, Mo., near Saint Louis.
The segment includes an old video of a young Tatum and Tkachuk, where the NBA star talks about why he chose to attend school at Chaminade.

“That clip comes up maybe a few times a year when me and him are doing well. It’s crazy that we’ve been in the same gym all these years and it’s cool to say that we’re both representing Chaminade,” Tkachuk said.
Tatum thrived at the school, winning Gatorade’s National Player of the Year award his senior year in 2016. Tatum graduated and played basketball at Duke before becoming the No. 3 picks in the 2017 NBA draft.
Tkachuk spent just one year of his high school tenure at Chaminade, before leaving the school to join the US National Development Team to continue his pursuit of hockey stardom, which he has since achieved.
The two athletes certainly took separate paths to the big leagues.
