Bengalis Coach Zac Taylor offered a positive outlook on the quarterback Joe BurrowThe team’s potential return for the regular-season opener while speaking to the media on Monday.
Taylor said Burrow looks better than he did a few weeks ago when he suffered a right calf strain during training camp on July 27.
“He looks great,” Taylor said, via NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. “Physically walking around, he looks as good as he looks.”
Back on August 9, Taylor was less encouraging about Burrow’s return, saying it would likely take “a few weeks from what I said a few weeks” for the quarterback to fully recover.

However, just days after that, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Burrow should be ready for the season opener against the Brown ones on Sept. 10. However, that timeframe for Burrow’s return has not been confirmed by Taylor or the team.
Burrow is not expected to play during the Bengals’ final preseason game on Saturday against the Commanders.
