Andrew Kay has been appointed president of Amwins Specialty Casualty Solutions (ASCS), part of Amwins Underwriting.
He succeeds Munawar Ali, who has led ASCS since its launch in 2011 and moves to a new role at the firm level focused on product development for Amwins.
In his new role, Kay will lead one of the largest underwriting operating companies within Amwins, covering more than 20 programs targeting niche markets including Public Entity, PEO, Transportation , Healthcare and Professional Lines with total annual written premiums in excess of $1. billion.
Under his supervision is a team of 80 professionals responsible for providing clients with comprehensive, gold standard services that include everything from broking to underwriting, claims management, actuarial analysis, reinsurance , loss control and auditing.
Prior to joining Amwins in 2020, Kay spent 15 years with Markel and Great American, where he began serving in underwriting roles and took on additional solutions-focused management responsibilities. in public insurance.
